After a series of unfortunate events leading up to the name change, a group of Indigenous leaders announced a new strategy on their path towards self-determination and reconciliation.
“We have been trying to show these guys the way to glory for many years,” said Alfred Moosehide, Chief of Littefoot First Nation. “And after many times they have failed to arouse any of us into reconciling with them, we have decided this new word will explain all the impotency and lack of interest.”
